Everyone is probably now aware of the story that a 22 years old PhD student named Stanley Miller carried out the genuine experiment to investigate how the life started in this planet in 1950. He accumulated all the gasses (exist in our atmosphere) in a closed chamber and then introduced electrical spark in it. He ultimately was able to produce the amino acid. It has been argued that the similar natural processes took place in millions of years ago where the volcanoes provided the essential sparks.
For some mysterious reason those results did not get enough attention until now when one of the scientist's student digs out his original lab and discovers more of such evidences. Unfortunately Prof. Miller died last year.
